The first time we ate from here (we never ate inside, we always go through the drive thru) we ordered the flying saucer which was kinda like a taco salad I liked it and I ordered it again the next time. My husband ordered as well and he didn't like the consistency of the taco "salad" he said it was like soup on the bottom of the taco shell. Then we didn't eat there for about a few months and we happened to just stop by around 2 am in the morning and we tried the machaca burrito and OH MY TASTE BUDS! It was really gooooood! So then a week later I decided to come back to try another burrito so I got the carnitas burrito. I liked it too but it was kinda bland BUT it had a lot of meat. So next time I tried their carne asada burrito and YESSSSSSSS!!! I loved it and i order it all the time now. Yes, the wait in the drive thru is long. Yes, some of the food are bland. Yes, it doesn't look fancy shmancy. BUT: They do have some GREAT prices. They hand make all their food. They are almost better than the average Mexican restaurant. Not nearly as good as 3 Margaritas but for the price it is good!

Best breakfast burrito in town, and love the carne asada burrito. Stand out item here are the chicken tacos, the sauce is out of this world. Order them as a side not a plater, due to the refried beans ruining your taco shells. The carne asada is pretty low quality meat so some grizzle might sneak in. Hot sauce is great, service is below average, but prices are right.

Got a breakfast burrito and the potatoes had an old taste! Like the potatoes had been in a fridge for a while n then reheated! Grossed me out so bad I'll never go there again.

A lot of things have changed since the last time I was in here. The store is a lot cleaner and does not smell of bleach. I was in there today and was surprised by all the people in drive thru. The store seemed understaffed by I was being super patient and polite. What really did blow me away, was the amazing customer service I had received tonight. The cash register broke at some point and this guy handled the situation like a champ. The friendly cashier checked to see if my order was correct and gave me extra tortillas, sauce and extra food. I wasn't sure why I got an extra box but I am thankful and I think it was for being a patient customer. I'm definitely coming back in here more often! :)

Horrible!! I ordered a shredded beef chimichanga and there's no meat!! Its all bell pepper and a ridiculous amount of tortilla! Absolutely dissapointing! To spend 10.00 bucks on a mouthfull of greasy soggy tortilla and bellpepper is a shame!

Love their California Burrito. The building is horrible looking, but one must look past it to eat there and it's worth it. Lately they have been lacking though. Their pico has had huge chunks of tomato in it and once my husband and I had almost all pico in the burrito. Also, you are guaranteed to have grisle in the burrito which sucks to have to spit out parts of your food. If they just get back to learning how to cut a tomato to make pico correctly and cut meat correctly they'd get more stars.

While on my recent work trip to Pikes Peak, I found myself "homesick" one day for some serious mexican food. I was surprised to find this Albertaco's location since I only live about 5 minutes from the Cypress location here in Cali. This is VERY MUCH the same, just in Colorado!! Food is prepared to order, good tasting, hot, fast, and very affordable... you can't ask for much more. I'm giving this 4/5 only because the tables inside are dilapidated and in dire need of attention, lol. Seriously, that's about the only flaw I can find. The pollo asado is very much the same as here. The asada fries are still the bomb. Can't wait to get to Pikes Peak Hill Climb next year!!

Not the greatest looking place, but the price-to-food ratio never fails after a night of beer and billiards!

We ordered the kids quesadilla for my daughter. It was a burrito sized shell with a small amount of cheese folded over four times. It was mainly shell. She didn't eat it. They have chicken pieces for the kids with no dipping sauces. As we were leaving my kids wanted to use the silly toy machines. We wound up buying SIX of the punching balloons. One came out with a hole in it, the other five burst within minutes of being blown up, one in my hand as I held the rubber band, burst for no reason. The machine also ate a quarter. My son took the balloon that came out with the hole in it to the front and the woman put her hands up and said "not me, not me". He walked away disappointed so we gave him another quarter. The machine ate that quarter. Two and a half dollars of wasted quarters later I went up and asked for ONLY the eaten quarter back. The woman walked away "not me, not me". I asked for a manager she said "no". My husband called into the back AS SHE WALKED AWAY asking for a manager. Someone else came out and handed her ten dollars to hand to us. She THREW two dollars at us. We asked for only a quarter and she started cursing in Spanish and complaining "All this over a quarter".... Yea.. NO. She THREW the quarter at my husband and kept complaining loudly as we left. We will NEVER be back. Their service is worse than their food... and that's saying a lot!

Best mexican food in the springs. The red sauce is so good you can drink it for breakfast. I get the bean burrito everytime.

My first impression was, "Albertaco's in Colorado, round 2." I love Albertaco's back at Cypress, CA where I first discovered it. Read my review here for the Cypress, CA location: yelp.com/biz/albertacos-… So when I found another location in CO Springs last summer, I was stoked, but then again disappointed after I tried the food. Read my review here for the one on Academy Blvd. CO: yelp.com/biz/albertacos-… Finally, this summer I attempted to try another location. I loved it! Now THIS is the taste that fits well with the location in Cypress. The food tastes almost identical, the carne asada fries that I had missed, and the best part is, it's open 24 HOURS. Yes, late night munchies you are well taken care of. The lasting impression? "Thank goodness I have a place to get Albertaco's this Summer! It'll totally fulfill my taste buds back when I'm missing California!"

This is very good foo for the price. Coming from California, this is some of the best Mexican food we've had in Colorado. Not greasy or covered in oil and cheese. Fresh and decently priced for big portions. The hot salsa that comes with it isn't the best but the quality of the food itself is great. Unfortunately, the building itself isn't particularly appealing and I'd recommend taking takeout rather than eating inside.

I've always been confused, is it Alber Taco's or Albert Taco's? Well this does sort of look like an old run down establishment. The food is delicious though. Its cheap and a really good size portion and burrito size. The Breakfast burritos are the best! It is a faily poorly maintained place though. Usually dirty, rude cashiers, slow service especially for the drive through, at least they have a drive through though. Their bathrooms are typicaly disgusting and the urinal is so high you have to pee into the air and hope. By the looks of it most guys dont make it. The food, however, despite the rumors of spitting in white people's food apparently, is amazing. Doesn't stop me from eating there.

Two different occasions, bought a breakfast burrito, and was mostly potatoes and hardly any bacon or egg. Kitchen would not pass Servsafe requirements if inspected. As a follow up I checked out it's most recent three inspections which they had seven violations but seems to passed the latest. Hope they continue to do well.

Went back again to try the breakfast burritos. Could barely understand the guy in the drive through. My burrito was nothing more but greasy eggs, a rubbery tortilla, cheese, under cooked bacon and frozen French fries! Not worth the money, not authentic Mexican food at all. Will Never go back to this crappy place.

Its Mexican food, fast, affordable, and usually pretty tasty. It's not super nice to go and sit-down at, but it's not BAD really. I don't expect the place to feel like a 5 star restaurant, i want good food fast....and that's what this place is. Ate it a lot in High School, and I've been known to drive across town for lunch here every now and then. Breakfast burritos are awesome.

Okay so the place looks really scary from the outside, the kind of place you look at and say to yourself "I'm not getting stabbed here today" and drive by. Inside isn't much better...but if your looking for a quick cheap and very tasty Mexican treat be a man (or woman) pull up the the drive thru and order. I have had a number of menu items, the breakfast burrito, carnitas burrito and anything with quac are my favorites. And open 24 hours?!? Whoa! Good well priced food is the bottom line.

The place is rather dingey, but they are the best burrito option close to Ft Carson. I'm fond of the carne asada burritos. The horchata is good, too.

Worst chicken burro I have ever had. This place is disgusting to say the least.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
